Your Role And Responsibilities
As a DevOps Engineer: Generalist, you will engage in a wide variety of cloud migration and cloud adoption projects using the DevOps model for users of our services and partners. You will work in an Agile, collaborative environment to deliver strong success for our users, leveraging collective experience from across the IBM Cloud customer base.
Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include
- Build and Deploy Systems: Work in an Agile environment to build, deploy, configure, and maintain systems, including software installations, updates, and core services.
- Manage Problem Identification: Identify problems, define system architecture, specify and design software, implement, test, and deploy open source solutions.
- Enable Continuous Integration: Collaborate with development teams to enable a continuous integration environment that sustains high productivity levels and emphasizes defect prevention techniques.
- Automate Testing and Deployment: Automate test and deploy code, and monitor to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Manage Infrastructure: Drive incidents, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions to closure, and build common tooling to solve problems and prevent repetition.
Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Cloud Migration Experience: Exposure to cloud migration and cloud adoption projects using the DevOps model, with a focus on delivering strong success for users and leveraging collective experience from across the customer base.
- Agile Environment Expertise: Experience working in an Agile, collaborative environment to build, deploy, configure, and maintain systems, including software installations, updates, and core services.
- Open Source Solution Development: Exposure to defining system architecture, specifying and designing software, implementing, testing, and deploying open source solutions.
- Continuous Integration Knowledge: Experience working with development teams to enable a continuous integration environment that sustains high productivity levels and emphasizes defect prevention techniques.
- Automation and Monitoring Skills: Exposure to automating test and deployment of code, and monitoring to ensure high-quality delivery.
Preferred Technical And Professional Experience
- Cloud Computing Knowledge: Exposure to cloud computing platforms, including migration and adoption projects, with a focus on delivering strong success for users.
- Scripting and Automation: Experience with scripting languages and automation tools to automate testing, deployment, and monitoring of code.
- Open Source Technologies: Exposure to open source technologies, including system architecture definition, software specification and design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
