Summary:
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with strong GitLab expertise to drive the transformation and optimisation of IT systems in the financial services sector. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional technical teams, ensuring seamless IT operations, automation, and high service levels. You will play a key role in enhancing DevOps practices, improving collaboration, and supporting the development and transformation of IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
GitLab & Version Control Expertise:
- Implement and manage GitLab CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
- Ensure efficient code management, branching strategies, and collaboration across development teams.
- Troubleshoot and optimise GitLab workflows to enhance productivity and reduce bottlenecks.
Cross-Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with development, infrastructure, and security teams to align DevOps practices with business needs.
- Act as a bridge between technical teams, fostering smooth communication and collaboration.
Automation & Process Improvement:
- Drive automation initiatives to streamline IT operations and improve efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to optimise workflows and implement best practices for DevOps.
Communication & Presentation:
- Clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Present solutions, progress, and insights to leadership and clients.
Self-Driven Leadership:
- Take ownership of projects, proactively identify challenges, and propose solutions.
- Work independently while aligning with broader team and company goals.
Qualifications:
- Strong experience with GitLab/Git, including CI/CD pipelines, branching strategies, and repository management.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and present ideas effectively.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with a track record of driving projects to completion.
- Experience working in financial services or banking is a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (IaC) is desirable.
- Ability to navigate complex technical environments and work with multiple stakeholders.
