We are looking for an experienced Dev Lead with technical expertise in AWS, microservices and JavaScript.
Job Duties:
- Assist senior IT leadership in developing and executing IT strategies that align with organizational objectives.
- Manage IT projects, including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and implementation.
- Oversee the performance and development of IT teams, ensuring high levels of productivity and engagement.
- Support the design, deployment, and maintenance of IT systems, infrastructure, and applications.
- Ensure the security, scalability, and compliance of IT operations with industry standards and regulations.
- Act as a liaison between IT and other departments to identify and address technology needs.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend their adoption to improve business processes and services.
- Monitor and report on IT performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
- Assist in managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts for software, hardware, and services.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 9+ years of experience in IT roles, with at least 4 years in a leadership position.
- Proven ability to manage complex IT projects and cross-functional teams.
- Strong knowledge of modern development principles and best practices.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity, compliance, and IT governance best practices.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and enterprise systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in budgeting and financial management for software delivery teams.
- Prior experience in the insurance or financial services industry is highly desirable.
- 5+ years of experience with Web technologies & Cloud platforms (AWS)
- 2+ Years of experience with AWS specifically Serverless and ECS/EKS stack
- Strong understanding of Microservice/OOP/OOD
- Strong understanding of Test-Driven Development and Continuous Integration
- Experience with REST Web Services / Web API
- Experience with JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks (Node.js, React, Remix.JS)
- Working knowledge of Python / Django
