Desktop Engineer
Tekkie Help Pte Ltd is hiring a Junior Desktop Engineer, with a minimum of 1-year experience, to join our small but fast-growing, customer focused IT support team. This is a hands-on customer-facing role where you'll support both residential and small business clients with a range of IT needs - from hardware repairs and system upgrades to user setup and day-to-day troubleshooting. You will workalongside experienced engineers, learning on the job while developing your technical and client-facing skills. This role offers clear progression into more senior engineering positions within the company.
Key Responsibilities
Device & Hardware Support
- Diagnose, repair and upgrade Windows and macOS devices
- Perform hardware replacements and system optimisation (RAM, SSDs, OS installs)
- Troubleshoot performance issues and system errors
User Setup & Business IT Support
- Set up new users, devices and workstations for businesses
- Configure email accounts (e.g. Outlook / Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace)
- Assist with on-boarding and off-boarding of staff
- Troubleshoot email issues, syncing problems, login/access issues
- Support basic file sharing, permissions and cloud environment
Customer Service & Operations
- Deliver and collect equipment maintain professional, tidy work environments
- Record all work, parts and billing accurately in CRM/ Billing system
- Assist with stock management and purchasing
- Support workshop tasks and assist senior engineers where needed
Skills and attributes
- Basic to intermediate technical knowledge of PCs and Macs.
- Comfortable with hardware repairs, diagnostics and replacements.
- Familiar with Microsoft 365 / Outlook / Google Workspace basics
- Willingness to learn networking, VPN/DNS and printer troubleshooting.
- Strong customer service skills and clear communication skills
- Attention to detail for record keeping, billing and stock control.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work flexibly to meet customer demand.
- Suitable for candidates at L1-L2 level looking to develop into a fully independent engineer
Hours, pay and benefits
- Working week: 5 days out of 6 (Mon-Sat) typical hours 9:00-18:00 with a 60-minute lunch.
- Flexible scheduling by customer demand.
- Salary: SGD 2,500 to 3,200 per month
- Commission: Profit-share and sales commission
- Overtime: overtime paid or time off in lieu

Important policies
- Must comply with Singapore PDPA and handle customer data only for the scope of work return or destroy data on leaving the company.
- Responsible for company equipment and stock.
- Non-compete and client non-solicitation restrictions.
- One month's written notice required by either party to terminate (except in gross misconduct).
