About the Role
DB&B is seeking a Computational Designer / Design Technologist to support the transformation of our design workflow through automation, computational design, and AI-assisted processes. This role sits between design, technology, and production , working closely with designers, technical teams, and project managers to improve efficiency, automate repetitive tasks, and explore new digital design methods. The ideal candidate understands architecture or interior design workflows and has strong programming or scripting skills to develop tools that enhance productivity across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Design Workflow Automation
. Develop scripts and automation tools to streamline design and production workflows.
. Automate repetitive drafting, modelling, and visualization tasks.
. Support designers with parametric and generative design tools.
Computational Design
. Create parametric models and algorithmic design systems for spatial planning and design exploration.
. Develop automated workplace planning or test-fit tools for early stage design studies.
Software Integration
Work with the studio's digital toolset, including:
. AutoCAD
. SketchUp
. Autodesk 3ds Max
. V-Ray
Integrate scripting and automation within these environments.
AI and Emerging Technologies
. Explore AI-assisted design tools and generative workflows.
. Develop prompt libraries and automation pipelines for concept generation and presentation workflows.
Knowledge Sharing
. Support training and capability development across the design team.
. Document workflows and digital tools for studio use.
