About the role
We are looking for a Design Project Manager to lead the design phase of hyperscale data centre projects across APAC. This is a hands-on, client-facing role where you will own the design coordination from concept through to Construction, managing multidisciplinary engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design management for data centre projects, ensuring alignment with client technical specifications, Uptime Institute Tier standards etc
- Coordinate MEP, architectural, structural, and fire/life safety consultants to deliver integrated design packages
- Manage stakeholder relationships across hyperscale customers, internal engineering teams, and external design consultants
- Drive design reviews, value engineering sessions, and risk mitigation strategies from Schematic Design through Construction Documentation
- Oversee design budgets, consultant fee negotiations, and change control during the pre-construction phase
- Ensure seamless handover to construction teams with complete IFC documentation and technical clarifications
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in data centre design, mission-critical facilities, or heavy MEP infrastructure
- Proven track record managing design consultants and multidisciplinary teams on projects
- Strong technical fluency in MEP systems for critical facilities
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills with ability to navigate hyperscale clients
- Detail-oriented with high ownership mentality
