What will you be working on:
We are seeking a visionary Design Lead to spearhead design transformation at the Singapore Land Authority (SLA). In this role, you will drive the design strategy and delivery of digital products that serve millions of Singaporeans, while building a high-performance design practice across SLA and partner agencies.
Your Impact
As Design Lead, you'll:
- Define and execute the design vision for SLA's digital services, ensuring seamless user experiences across property, land management, and geospatial platforms while aligning with whole-of-government design standards
- Build and mentor a team of designers, fostering a culture of design excellence and establishing best practices for user research, interaction design, and service design methodologies
- Develop comprehensive design systems that ensure consistency and efficiency across SLA's digital platforms while meeting government accessibility standards and citizens needs
- Lead strategic design initiatives that transform traditional government services into intuitive digital experiences, working closely with product, engineering, and policy teams
- Influence key stakeholders across agencies to champion user-centred design practices and drive innovation in public service delivery

What we are looking for
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in industrial design, human-computer interaction (HCI), graphic design, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- More than 10 years of experience in UX design, five of which in a managerial or leadership capacity
- Good with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe CC, or similar
- Strategic thinker and a proven ability to drive strategic initiatives in your work
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with senior stakeholders and leadership
- Strong understanding of UX principles and methodology, with a strong commitment to design craft and quality
- Effective communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present finding clearly and persuasively
- Strong analytical thinking with attention to detail and ability to handle ambiguity
- Strong empathy for users and a desire to advocate for their needs
- Desire to train, guide, and mentor more junior team members
- Experience working with and managing vendors tasked with delivering on design work
- Experience managing designers, mapping career pathways, and supporting professional growth of designers
