Overview of Role/Principle Responsibilities:

The primarily responsibility of the team is to administer and provide operational support for the APAC Investment teams for derivatives. The role is also to oversee reconciliation activities managed by our offshore teams. The role is varied covering trade capture, lifecycle events, collateral management and/or margins, reconciliation with Clearing Brokers, new instruments and ad-hoc tasks for a wide range of derivatives

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation activities managed by offshore teams, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and audit-readiness.
  • Review, challenge, and ensure the quality and compliance of reconciliation outputs, management information (MI) reports, and internal records.
  • Act as the key escalation point for complex or unresolved issues, including trade breaks and aged items, and ensure their timely investigation and resolution.
  • Manage all aspects of trade life cycle for ETD (Exchange-Traded Derivatives) and OTC (Over-the-Counter) trades, such as electronic affirmation, confirmation, clearing processes, and the timely resolution of matching breaks.
  • Oversee internal and external margin and collateral processes, including daily reconciliation (e.g., of Aladdin positions and margin cash with Clearing Brokers), dispute resolution, and ensuring breaks with counterparties and custodians are promptly closed.
  • Drive ongoing process improvements, automation initiatives, and the adoption of best practices across reconciliation and trade management functions, collaborating with the team to minimise operational risk.
  • Collaborate closely with offshore/onshore teams to monitor service level agreements (SLAs), ensure effective handover of information, and assist in resolving operational issues.
  • Track, assess, and report on the performance of counterparties and custodians, and participate in regular benchmark and review meetings.
  • Maintain robust records and support structured issue tracking for reconciliation and trade management activities.
  • Foster strong working relationships with internal stakeholders (Operations, Compliance, Risk, Audit) and external parties, supporting prompt response to queries and incidents.
  • Substantial experience in reconciliation, margin/collateral management, and trade operations within asset management, private equity, or broader financial services.
  • Strong analytical, process improvement, and problem-solving skills, with a proven commitment to reducing risk.
  • Able to work collaboratively across global and cross-functional teams, including offshore service providers.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • Capacity to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines.

  • Proven experience in reconciliations or investment operations oversight, with a strong understanding of asset management, custody, and trade lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage outsourced or offshore operational teams, ensuring effective oversight of controls, SLAs, and deliverables.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to challenge outputs constructively.
  • Experience working with reconciliations systems (e.g., Aladdin, Tri-Optima) and proficiency with management information (MI) reporting
