Position: Deputy Section Manager (Civil - LTA Projects)
Salary: Up to $7,400
Work Week: 6 Days (Mon-Sat)
We are seeking an experienced Deputy Section Manager with strong LTA civil construction experience to lead site operations for major infrastructure projects.
This role is ideal for candidates with solid exposure in excavation, structural works, and temporary works under main contractor environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise civil works including excavation, earthworks, piling, ERSS, D-wall, RC structural works, drainage, and road works
- Ensure all construction activities comply with LTA specifications, approved drawings, method statements, and construction sequencing
- Drive site progress to achieve section milestones
- Enforce compliance with WSH Act, MOM regulations, and LTA safety requirements
- Oversee excavation safety, lifting operations, and traffic management implementation
- Conduct site inspections and ensure timely closure of safety observations
- Manage subcontractors, supervisors, and suppliers within assigned section
- Coordinate utilities diversion, M&E, architectural works, and civil interfaces
- Lead coordination meetings and toolbox briefings
- Track productivity and progress against approved baseline programmes
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports to Project Manager
- Identify delays and propose mitigation or recovery plans
- Ensure compliance with LTA QA/QC standards and ITP requirements
- Coordinate inspections with LTA, consultants, and Independent Checkers (IC)
- Manage NCRs and corrective actions
- Review drawings, temporary works design, and method statements
- Resolve technical and constructability issues
- Control manpower, materials, and equipment usage
- Support variation works, measurements, and claims documentation
Requirements
- Minimum Diploma / Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 8 years of civil construction experience with 5 years as Senior Site Engineer OR 2 years as Section Manager
- Strong experience in Excavation, RC structural works, ERSS, D-wall/Bored piling, drainage & traffic diversion
- Solid knowledge of MOM, WSH and LTA Specifications
- Proven track record in LTA main contractor projects (MRT / Road / Tunnel / Viaduct / Depot)
- Strong leadership and coordination skills
