Position Overview
We are looking for a highly organized and proactive Deputy Project Manager to support the strategic execution of major Oil & Gas EPC projects. Working directly with the Project Manager, you will be a key driver in synchronizing engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) workflows. This role requires a leader who can navigate complex project landscapes, ensure operational continuity, and step into full management responsibilities when required to keep project milestones on track.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Support the Project Manager in the daily steering of project execution, ensuring all departments are aligned with the master project plan.
- Performance Tracking: Maintain rigorous oversight of project schedules, cost controls, and the timely delivery of all contractually mandated outputs.
- Interface Coordination: Act as the central integrator between Engineering, Procurement, and Construction teams to resolve bottlenecks and ensure a seamless transition between project phases.
- Reporting & Analytics: Lead the development of comprehensive project status reports, financial forecasts, and high-level progress updates for senior stakeholders.
- Risk & Change Management: Assist in identifying potential project risks and technical hurdles, implementing effective mitigation strategies and managing the change control process.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate project meetings, design reviews, and site coordination activities, ensuring clear communication across all technical disciplines.
- Succession Authority: Assume full Project Manager responsibilities during their absence, providing consistent leadership and decision-making authority for the project team.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
- A minimum of 10to 15 years of proven experience within the Oil & Gas or EPC sectors, with a strong emphasis on project execution and coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, solve complex logistical challenges, and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Deep understanding of the EPC project lifecycle, including budgeting, scheduling, and technical interface management.
- Exceptional ability to manage shifting priorities and deliver high-quality results in afast-paced, dynamic project environment.
