Our client is seeking an experienced Deputy Project Director to support the Project Director in leading the successful delivery of major building/infrastructure project.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Director in overseeing the overall planning, execution, and successful delivery of large-scale construction projects.
- Lead and manage Project Managers, Construction Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, and supporting project teams.
- Develop and monitor project programmes, construction methodologies, resource allocation, and recovery plans to achieve project milestones.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, statutory regulations, company policies, and Workplace Safety & Health standards.
- Drive project performance across safety, quality, cost, productivity, and schedule objectives.
- Manage client, consultant, authority, and subcontractor relationships to ensure smooth project execution and timely resolution of technical and commercial issues.
- Review project budgets, forecasts, procurement strategies, cash flow, claims, variations, and cost control measures.
- Lead project meetings, progress reviews, and management reporting to senior leadership.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimise delays and commercial exposure.
- Oversee procurement planning, subcontractor management, and coordination of engineering and construction activities.
- Ensure timely submission and approval of technical documents, shop drawings, method statements, and project deliverables.
- Support tender reviews, value engineering initiatives, and constructability assessments where required.
- Lead project teams through project completion, testing & commissioning, TOP, CSC, and final handover
Requirements:
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of construction project management experience with an established A1 main contractor.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale residential, commercial, mixed-use, institutional, industrial, infrastructure, or public sector projects.
- Strong understanding of project planning, contract administration, commercial management, and construction methodologies.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing multidisciplinary project teams.
