Job Description

Our client, a leading conglomerate with a strong and growing real estate platform, is seeking to appoint a Deputy Managing Director, Real Estate & Development. This is a pivotal leadership role, partnering closely with the Managing Director to lead the planning, development, and delivery of the group's hospitality and mixed-use developments across the full property development lifecycle.

About the Role

The role will play a critical part in shaping the group's real estate and development strategy, with responsibility for translating strategic intent into well-executed, commercially viable developments.

You will be deeply involved from the early stages of site identification and feasibility, through planning approvals, design development, construction, and project completion, ensuring each development meets market demand, quality expectations, and long-term value objectives.

Working closely with internal teams and external consultants, you will oversee architects, planners, engineers, contractors, and other professional partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with regulatory and quality standards.

A strong understanding of development feasibility, project financial modelling, budgeting, and cost control will be essential in guiding decision-making and ensuring commercial discipline throughout the development process.

Beyond project delivery, the role will also contribute to optimising completed assets through effective leasing strategies, repositioning initiatives, and long-term asset enhancement, supporting sustainable portfolio performance. You will build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, partners, government authorities, and local communities, representing the organization at a senior level and navigating complex stakeholder environments with confidence.

About You

The ideal candidate will bring at least 15 years of experience in real estate and property development, with a proven track record delivering large-scale mixed-use and/or hospitality developments. You will have a deep understanding of the end-to-end development process, from feasibility and approvals through construction and completion, supported by strong commercial acumen and hands-on project leadership.

A bachelor's degree in real estate, architecture, urban planning, engineering, finance, business, or a related discipline is required, with a master's degree considered an advantage. Exposure to Asian real estate markets and experience operating in cross-border or multicultural environments will be viewed positively.

This is an opportunity to step into a senior leadership role with direct influence over high-profile developments, offering a long-term platform within a well-capitalized organization committed to building high-quality, future-ready assets.
