Job Description
We are seeking a Deputy Manager to assist in overseeing daily operations, liaising with Japan-based stakeholders, and ensuring smooth coordination between internal teams and external partners.
This position requires business-level proficiency in Japanese as the role involves regular communication with Japanese-speaking clients and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Manager in daily operations, planning, and reporting
- Coordinate with internal teams and external Japanese-speaking stakeholders
- Draft and review documents, reports, and correspondence in English and Japanese
- Monitor KPIs, identify process improvements, and implement changes
- Lead and participate in operational projects to improve efficiency
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Business, Operations, or related field
- Proficiency in Japanese at JLPT N2 level or higher, or equivalent, due to the nature of communicating with Japanese-speaking clients and customers
- Strong communication skills in both Japanese and English
- 3-6 years experience in operations, coordination, or team leadership
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
- Organised, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Good to Have
- Experience in service operations, logistics, immigration, or customer-facing environments
- Familiarity with working with Japan market stakeholders
