We are seeking a Deputy Manager, Fleet Category & Contract to join a leading shipping company in Singapore. This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in procurement strategy, supplier management, and contract negotiations, supporting the company's growing fleet operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement category strategies for shipbuilding, marine equipment, and technical services.
- Lead procurement planning and execution for new builds, conversions, and dry dock projects.
- Manage sourcing and contract negotiations for fleet operations, including spares, consumables, and services.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships monitor performance and ensure compliance with SLAs.
- Collaborate with technical, operations, and finance teams to align procurement with project and operational needs.
- Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to identify cost-saving opportunities and innovations.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, maritime regulations, and risk management frameworks.
- Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and supplier performance.
Requirements
- Degree in Maritime, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Proven experience in procurement, category management, or contracts within the maritime/shipping industry.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and supplier management skills.
- Knowledge of shipbuilding, technical services, and fleet operations will be an advantage.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
