Deputy Manager, Capacity Management
Job Scope
The individual will oversee the strategic utilization of vessel space across diverse trade services. You will be responsible for balancing supply and demand, managing partner relations, and ensuring that every voyage both headhaul and backhaul is optimized for maximum yield.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the overall space allocation strategy to ensure vessel utilization meets or exceeds profitability targets.
- Act as the primary point of contact for agents and global stakeholders regarding service reshuffles, vessel redeployments, and contingency planning (port omissions/phasing).
- Oversee the Trade Services Catalogue, monitor transshipment flow, and audit agent performance regarding booking efficiency.
- Collaborate with Equipment and Operations divisions to balance laden and empty container flows, ensuring a healthy P&L.
- Lead the response to operational disruptions, developing swift recovery plans to minimize impact on cargo flow.
- Head the Cargo Flow Management Team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and high performance.
Qualifications
- More than 5 years of experience in a specialized capacity management or trade operations role within the liner shipping industry.
- A decisive and persuasive communicator capable of taking swift action in a high-pressure, fast-moving environment.
- Proven ability to mentor junior staff and maintain a people-centric team culture.
- A proactive problem-solver who can adapt to the shifting dynamics of global trade and logistics.
