Job Summary
This high-exposure strategic role supports the Head of Department by leading risk management and compliance initiatives, including governance frameworks, sanction compliance automation, MAS regulatory adherence, and advanced CDD protocols within general insurance.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Head of Department to develop and enhance corporate risk governance frameworks and lead policy overhauls for strategic compliance initiatives
- Lead the Sanction Compliance function, managing its automation to optimize risk workflows and improve operational efficiency
- Serve as the subject matter expert on MAS regulations, ensuring the organization adapts promptly to regulatory changes
- Design and refine customer due diligence (CDD) and compliance protocols for complex general insurance products to mitigate risk
- Advise senior management with clear, confident communication of complex compliance issues and strategic risk considerations
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding internal corporate strategies and sensitive information
Required competencies and certifications
- Demonstrated expertise in risk management and compliance within the general insurance sector, supported by at least 7 years of relevant experience
- Comprehensive, current knowledge of MAS regulations, notices, and guidelines essential for regulatory compliance
- Proven leadership skills or readiness to lead teams and drive technological transformation in compliance processes
- Strong communication skills to articulate complex compliance matters effectively to C-suite stakeholders
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive corporate information
