Deputy General Manager (Sales)
Salary Range: SGD 7,500 - 14,000 per month
Travel Requirement: Up to 50% (SEA / Oceania / India / Middle East)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Deputy General Manager (Sales) to lead and drive sales growth for high-performance chemical products and polymers across regional markets. This role plays a critical leadership function in shaping sales strategies, expanding market presence, and strengthening partnerships while working closely with our Japan Head Office.
Key Responsibilities
. Lead, organize, and execute sales and marketing strategies for high performance chemical products and polymers.
. Manage and mentor a team of up to 5 direct reports to achieve agreed performance standards.
. Conduct market research, competitor analysis, netback comparisons, and special projects to enhance product profitability and competitiveness.
. Develop new business opportunities through close collaboration with suppliers and strategic partners.
. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, distributors, and suppliers.
. Recruit, guide, and support new sales partners in targeted markets and product segments.
. Drive regional sales growth across SEA, Oceania, India, and the Middle East.
. Prepare and present sales analysis, business plans, and market reports to Japan Head Office in Japanese.
. Maintain regular communication and coordination with headquarters and regional offices.
. Support overall company performance monitoring and strategic direction.
. Provide cross-functional collaboration and organizational support where required.
Requirements
. Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline.
. Minimum 10 years of sales experience in chemicals and polymers.
. Strong technical and market knowledge of chemical products, polymers, rubber, and related industries.
. Experience in international trade and trading documentation.
. Proven ability to develop and execute strategic and business plans.
. In-depth understanding of market dynamics and competitive forces.
. Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and presentation skills.
. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
. Business-level Japanese language proficiency (written and spoken) to communicate effectively with Japanese headquarters and stakeholders.
. Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time for regional business development.
