What The Role Is
You will be the Deputy Director of the Means Test Office, a team that oversees means testing and operations of the Household Means Eligibility System (HOMES), a central system that supports means-testing of government schemes.
This is a tech-adjacent role where you would need to analyse operational data, bridge business requirements and tap on new technologies to implement ops-tech-data integrated solutions that improve accuracy and experience for citizens.
You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.
What You Will Be Working On
You will provide oversight on the overall system functions, services, data, and ops processes of the Means Test Office, ensuring that they remain effective and efficient.
This will entail shepherding the HOMES system, which includes:
- Project management of the system as business owner
- Solutioning and implementation with new scheme onboardings
- Designing and putting in new requirements that would enhance means-testing process / experience for government and citizens
- Reviewing policy ops processes in means testing to ensure it remains relevant
- Overseeing the data governance framework, practices and implementation for HOMES
- Maintaining and reviewing the charging practices and financial sustainability of HOMES
- Data incident management and rectification of any downstream impact
Through these integrated responsibilities, you will contribute to maintaining HOMES as a financially sustainable, operationally efficient, and technically robust platform that delivers accurate means-testing services whilst ensuring positive outcomes for citizens accessing public services across government.
What We Are Looking For
- At least 11 - 13 years of relevant working experience
- Possess prior experience working on projects which required integration of policy/business-IT-operations.
- Possess good analytical and solutioning skills.
- Proficiency with Excel.
- Attention to details.
- Ability to plan and prioritise tasks.
- A team player who demonstrates good interpersonal skills and has high initiative.
- Motivated and persevering, resourceful and able to work independently and see through projects to completion.
- Ability to multi-task, handle stress and handle a fast work pace.
