[What the role is]
As an Insurance Supervisor at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), you will play a key role in safeguarding the soundness and resilience of Singapore's insurance sector. You will be responsible for supervising a portfolio of insurance companies, assessing their financial resilience, governance, risk management and business conduct using a risk-based supervisory approach.[What you will be working on]
This role offers the opportunity to gain insights into insurers business models and strategic priorities, while engaging senior management on key risks and emerging industry developments. You will analyse financial and risk information, evaluate the effectiveness of governance and control frameworks, and contribute to supervisory actions that promote a safe, fair and trusted insurance sector.
Beyond firm supervision, you will also have opportunities to contribute to regulatory and supervisory policy initiatives, participate in cross-functional projects, and help shape the future development of Singapore's insurance industry.
[What we are looking for]
Experience in financial services, preferably in insurance, auditing, actuarial science, risk management, or a demonstrable interest in building expertise in this sector.
Reasonably good with numbers, with a keen eye for detail.
Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to work in a team, at both the conceptual and operational levels.
Good written and verbal communication skills as you will be expected to interface with various senior internal and external stakeholders directly.
Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to evolving risks and collaborate across stakeholders.
