The Corporate Finance & Disclosures Department regulates:
(i) the offering of securities, business trusts and collective investment schemes (including REITs)
(ii) the conduct of takeover and merger transactions
(iii) the disclosure of interests in securities of listed entities and
(iv) SGX as a listed entity.
It also supervises corporate financial advisers and credit rating agencies, and coordinates the Capital Markets Group's regulatory approach to corporate and sustainability disclosures.
A) Administration of the Collective Investment Scheme (CIS) regime
Review offers of retail CIS- including applications for CIS authorisation and recognition, and CIS prospectus and product highlights sheet to ensure compliance with relevant requirements under the Securities and Futures Act (SFA) and the Code on Collective Investment Schemes. Administer the notification framework for offers of CIS to accredited investors. Assess breaches of SFA requirements by CIS and recommend appropriate courses of action in accordance with the Regulatory Action Framework.
B) Project work
Supporting a study into the possibility of a PISCES-like private market exchange in the Singapore context, and possible implications for Singapore's regulatory framework Supporting a project to implement a Proof-of-Concept AI-driven listed company surveillance model. Supporting ongoing study of tokenisation developments and implications for the regulatory framework for CIS and securities.
C) Handling consumer complaints (1Q27)
3-month full-time attachment to the Consumer Issues Division (CSI). You will be expected to primarily handle consumer calls and complaints on financial institutions (FIs) and unlicensed entities, and follow-through a case from start to end. Besides consumers,you will also engage with FIs and other government agencies, as well as relevant MAS supervisory and policy departments on assigned cases. Apart from handling consumer feedback, you could also be involved in relevant projects such as using the experience to improve the working model between CSI and other departments, ways to harness the feedback to improve policies, complaints analytics and consumer risk surveillance projects.
