DENTAL NURSE ASSISTANT

1. Chairside Assistance

• Assist the dentist during various dental procedures (e.g., fillings, extractions, root canals, etc.).
• Prepare and hand instruments and materials to the dentist during procedures.
• Use suction devices and other equipment to keep patients mouths dry and clear.
• Ensure patients are comfortable and informed during treatments.

2. Infection Control & Sterilization

• Sterilize dental instruments and equipment following infection control protocols.
• Disinfect and prepare treatment rooms before and after each patient.
• Follow proper procedures for handling biohazard materials.

3. Patient Care

• Greet and prepare patients for treatment.
• Take and record vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, temperature).
• Provide pre- and post-operative instructions to patients.
• Offer reassurance and support to nervous or anxious patients.

4. Administrative Support

• Schedule patient appointments.
• Maintain and update patient records accurately.
• Process patient billing and insurance claims (if required).
• Manage inventory of dental supplies and re-order when necessary.

5. Radiography (If Certified)

• Take dental X-rays as prescribed by the dentist.
• Develop and mount X-rays for diagnostic use.
