Dental Assistant

Responsibilities:

• Provide chairside assistance to the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon during consultations and surgical procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, equipment and materials before procedures
• Ensure proper sterilisation, disinfection and infection control protocols are followed
• Handle suctioning, retracting, passing instruments and mixing materials during procedures
• Take and update patient medical history and assist with pre-operative assessments
• Provide pre- and post-operative instructions to patients and caregivers
• Manage patient appointments, scheduling, and follow-up arrangements
• Maintain clinic inventory, monitor stock levels, and replenish materials as needed
• Assist with administrative tasks such as billing, payment collection and documentation
• Support overall clinic operations and perform any ad-hoc duties as required

Requirements:

• GCE O-Level / NITEC / Higher NITEC or equivalent
• Prior experience as a Dental Assistant / Dental Surgery Assistant is a MUST
• Experience in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is an advantage
• Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilisation and infection control practices
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced clinical environment and multitask effectively
• Professional, patient-focused and willing to learn
