We are a patient-focused dental practice committed to delivering high-quality care in a friendly, professional environment. We are looking for an organized and motivated individual with strong dental assisting experience to lead the daily operations of the clinic while providing exceptional front-desk service.
The Dental Assistant/Receptionist is responsible for managing front office operations, coordinating patient flow, supporting dental providers, overseeing clinic quality standards, and assisting chairside when needed. This dual-role position is ideal for someone with strong communication skills, leadership abilities, and hands-on dental experience. They must be service-oriented with a pleasant disposition and a passion for the healthcare/dental industry.
Key Responsibilities
Front Desk & Administrative Duties
- Greet patients warmly and manage check-in/check-out procedures
- Schedule and confirm appointments manage daily provider calendars
- Handle phone calls, inquiries, and patient follow-ups
- Process payments, maintain accurate financial records, and manage CHAS/Medisave claims
- Maintain organized patient files and ensure confidentiality
- Oversee day-to-day clinic operations to ensure smooth workflow
- Supervise and support front desk and clinical staff
- Coordinate dentist schedules, room assignments, and patient flow
- Monitor inventory and order dental supplies
- Ensure clinic cleanliness, safety compliance, and sterilization standards
- Handle escalated patient concerns professionally
- Assist management in implementing policies, protocols, and quality improvements
Dental Assisting Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms and set up instruments/materials
- Assist dentists chairside during procedures
- Take and process digital radiographs
- Perform sterilization and infection-control procedures
- Provide post-treatment instructions to patients
- Maintain accurate treatment notes and assist with charting
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of dental assisting reception or administrative experience preferred
- Education: Dental assisting certificate or equivalent (preferred)
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and sterilization protocols
- Familiarity with dental software (e.g. Plato etc.)
- Strong communication, multitasking, and leadership skills
- Professional, patient-oriented demeanor
Preferred Skills
- Experience in team supervision or clinic coordination
- Knowledge of insurance billing and claims processing
- Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced environment
- Problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities
Job requires the applicant to be willing to work shifts (nights until 9pm and Saturdays).
