Integra Petrochemicals Pte Ltd, based in Singapore is looking for a Demurrage Claims Executive

As a Demurrage Claims Executive you will work as part of a multicultural global team of chartering and operations professionals covering Integra Petrochemicals global demurrage claims.

Job Profile Your Tasks:

  • Performing laytime calculations within time-bars for all marine shipments globally on gas and liquids cargoes, following up on all claims to earliest resolution.
  • Analyze charter-parties and voyage documents, clarify events with Agents, Brokers, Owners, Suppliers and Buyers in order to accurately calculate demurrages for vessel shipments company-wide.
  • Reporting and providing analysis on claims completed/in progress to highlight demurrage liabilities and exposure on ports, trades, shipments and external counterparties.
  • Reviewing sale/purchase contracts and charter parties to highlight demurrage risks.
  • Develop relationships with external counterparties to make resolution of calculations a smooth process.
  • Record demurrage/claims data and ensure compliance with electronic filing processes including the company's internal ERM system.
  • Collate relevant correspondences for Legal Counsel or P&I Club review on claims that need to be turned over for legal recovery.
  • Produce weekly and ad hoc reports, and maintain and distribute demurrage metrics.
  • Other ad-hoc responsibilities to develop over time.
  • Reporting to Global Head of Chartering based in Singapore.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4-6 years of relevant experience within Chemicals or Gases either with a charterer, ship broker or a ship owner, and the candidate must currently be employed in a similar capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of shipping practice and laytime (shipping education preferred).
  • Very good understanding of charter parties and Incoterms for gas and/or chemicals.
  • Strong facilitation, planning, organizational, and analytical skills with strong Excel skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with a global team.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written) company language is English. Knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
