Job Summary
We are looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented Demand Planner to join our team. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth operations in production scheduling, order fulfilment, and inventory management to maximize productivity and yield. The Production Planner will also need to analyse trends, provide meaning insights and generate accurate performance reports.
Responsibilities
- Forecasting & Planning: Analyse historical data, market trends, and other relevant factors to predict future demand and adjust production plans accordingly
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, manage inventory cycles, and ensure timely procurement of materials to avoid shortages or excess
- Resource Allocation: Optimize the use of resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) to maximize productivity and minimize costs
- Continuous Improvement: Work closely with the production team to review current production SOPs and implement solutions for enhance efficiency and reduce waste
- Reporting: Compile and present reports on production specification, including data on product quality, consistency & standards
- Workplace Safety & Health: Ensure and enforce safety and hygiene standards to comply with regulatory requirements
- Quality Assurance/Control: Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure products meet required standards, and investigate and resolve any quality issues
- Collaboration: Work with various departments to coordinate production activities and address any concerns
Skills & Attributes
- Analytical & Problem-Solving: Able to identify problems, analyse root causes, evaluate options, and implement effective course of action
- Technology: Able to use automated machinery and equipment to optimise manufacturing processes
- Communication: Possess excellent verbal and written skills to collaborate effectively with stake holders
Requirements
- Tertiary education in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Technology/Engineering or related field
- Relevant knowledge and experience in meat processing operations and food safety regulations will be advantageous
- Proficient in production planning using software and ERP system
