We are looking for an Assistant Director/ Deputy Director to lead our Research, Innovation and Enterprise (RIE) efforts in in Green Computing and Future Communications Technologies, including cross-domain research, and research to business development. The successful candidate is a highly motivated and independent team lead with proven experience in developing research strategies, driving thought leadership activities for Singapore, and orchestrating international partnerships through RIE programmes. This role offers opportunities to collaborate with local and international research communities and international organisations to drive sustainability and technology thought leadership.

[What you will be working on]
Responsibilities
- Develop research to translation strategies in Green Computing and Future Communications Technologies, alongside cross-domain research such as Artificial Intelligence, ensuring alignment with national strategic interests.
- Lead the preparation of RIE funding initiatives and develop theories of success to drive the research programmes effectively.
- Build strategic partnerships with Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) and Research Institutes (RIs) to create impact collaborations in Green Computing and Future Communications research. Cultivate and manage international partnerships with global partners to advance Singapore's research capabilities.
- Support the senior leadership team in monitoring and contextualising global developments in Green Computing and Future Communications developments. Deliver timely recommendations that drive policy, capture new value and mitigate emerging risks.
- Design and execute forward-looking communications strategies that effectively convey complex concepts to diverse audiences through innovative digital platforms, emerging media channels and interactive engagement formats.
- Mentor and coach the team. Instil a culture of consciousness, innovation, continuous improvement and sustainable development practices.
Qualifications and Skills
- Holds at least Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of experience in managing technology teams in research and/or engineering environments, with demonstrated exposure to Green Computing and Future Communications projects.
- At least 2 years of experience in RIE ecosystem or equivalent research and innovation environments, with understanding of funding mechanisms and programme management.
- Strategic thinker with collaborative attitude and a strong team player, particularly in managing cross-disciplinary technology initiatives and diverse stakeholder relationships.
- Strong project management capabilities with proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives. Highly organised and methodical approach to work, with excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain oversight whilst ensuring quality deliverables and adherence to deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as strong presentation and engagement skills.
- Strong strategic thinking with collaborative leadership approach
