Role Overview

The DCN Planning Manager is responsible for leading production planning and scheduling activities for modular data center manufacturing across APAC. This role ensures alignment between customer demand, engineering readiness, supply chain constraints, and manufacturing capacity-primarily through coordination with turnkey manufacturing partners.

The position plays a critical role in translating forecasts and customer orders into a stable, executable master production schedule while maintaining the flexibility required to support a fast-paced, evolving data center environment.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the Master Production Schedule (MPS) across multiple product lines and manufacturing sites
  • Convert customer demand, forecasts, and project timelines into a stable yet responsive production plan
  • Ensure alignment between engineering releases, material availability, and manufacturing readiness
  • Drive schedule adherence and proactively identify risks to delivery

Capacity Planning & Analysis

  • Perform capacity modeling and analysis across turnkey manufacturing partners
  • Identify constraints (labor, equipment, space, suppliers) and develop mitigation plans
  • Support strategic decisions on load balancing across regions (e.g., China, Malaysia, India, Philippines)
  • Demand Planning & Forecasting
  • Lead forecasting activities in coordination with commercial, program management, and customers
  • Translate long-term demand signals into actionable production plans
  • Continuously refine forecast accuracy and planning assumptions

Costing & Tender Support

  • Support cost estimation for quotations and tenders by providing production assumptions, labor models, and capacity inputs
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Manufacturing to ensure realistic and competitive cost structures

Turnkey Manufacturer Coordination

  • Interface with third-party / turnkey manufacturing partners
  • Ensure alignment on schedules, production readiness, and output expectations
  • Monitor supplier performance against plan and drive corrective actions where required

Data, Metrics & Systems

  • Develop and manage all planning data, KPIs, and reporting as defined by Master Scheduling policies
  • Track key metrics such as:
  • Schedule adherence
  • Capacity utilization
  • Throughput vs. plan
  • Forecast accuracy
  • Drive data integrity and standardization across planning systems and partners

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop a team of 1-5 planners
  • Establish clear roles, expectations, and performance metrics
  • Build capability in planning, analytics, and cross-functional coordination

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing planning / supply chain / operations
  • Experience in high-mix, project-based manufacturing environments (data centers, oil & gas modules, industrial systems, etc.)
  • Proven experience working with third-party / contract manufacturers
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and planning tools
