DBS Automation Engineer

A skilled Automation Developer bridges the gap between development and operations by building robust scripts and frameworks that eliminate manual bottlenecks. They are responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated solutions that improve the software delivery lifecycle and operational efficiency

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop Automation Scripts: Writing clean, reusable Python scripts to automate repetitive tasks like data processing, system monitoring, and report generation.

2. Test Automation: Designing and implementing automated test frameworks, such as PyTest or Selenium, to identify software defects and ensure reliability.

3. CI/CD Management: Building and managing automated deployment pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions to ensure seamless code transitions to production.

4. API Mastery: Demonstrating a deep understanding of RESTful APIs and automating integration tests using the Requests library or similar tools.

5. Linux/Unix Proficiency: Operating comfortably in terminal environments and writing Bash/Shell scripts for system-level automation.

6. Cluster Performance & Monitoring: Monitoring HDFS cluster performance, managing storage capacity, and ensuring high availability and fault tolerance.

7. Documentation: Maintaining thorough documentation of architecture, configurations, and best practices to ensure long-term maintainability.

Requirements:

1. System Architecture Knowledge: Designing scalable and maintainable automation that aligns with enterprise-level IT frameworks.

2. Analytical Problem-Solving: Identifying manual bottlenecks and diagnosing complex technical issues within automated systems.

3. Technical Documentation: Maintaining precise records of architecture, configurations, and best practices to ensure team alignment and auditability.

4. Collaboration & Communication: Acting as a bridge between business analysts, developers, and operations to align technical solutions with business goals.

5. Cloud & Infrastructure as Code: Familiarity with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes to manage virtualized and containerized environments.

Education:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related STEM field.

Professional Experience: 3-5 years in roles involving software development, IT operations, or QA automation.
