Main missions
Your responsibilities include:
- Support day-to-day data center activities by helping with basic monitoring tasks
- Assist in collecting simple data related to space, power, and equipment usage
- Help update asset lists and records in tracking tools (with supervision)
- Join routine physical checks in the data center (e.g., verifying labels, rack layouts, cleanliness)
- Assist in documenting issues and supporting the team in routing them to the correct escalation contacts
- Participate in simple reporting tasks such as preparing spreadsheets or updating dashboards
- Help the team identify small process improvements or areas where tasks can be made more efficient
- Contribute to basic automation efforts (e.g., templates, data formatting) based on ability
- Provide support during scheduled maintenance activities and vendor visits
- Follow operational procedures and learn how DC incidents, changes, and requests are handled
Expected skills & experience
We are looking for someone with the following skills:
Hard Skills:
- Basic knowledge of computers, hardware, or IT concepts (school-level understanding is acceptable)
- Comfortable using Excel or similar tools for data entry and simple analysis
- Willingness to learn about servers, networking equipment, and data center environments
- Ability to follow written instructions and standard procedures
- Interest in learning basic scripting (optional, not required)
- Ability to document findings clearly and accurately
Soft Skills:
- High attention to detail, especially during documentation and physical checks
- Willingness to learn and ask questions when unsure
- Good communication skills for escalating issues and working with the team
- Ability to work collaboratively in a structured environment
- Positive attitude and openness to hands-on learning
- Strong sense of responsibility when handling assigned tasks
Background:
- Pursuing a diploma or degree in IT, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related fields
- No prior data center experience required. Training will be provided
- Interest in infrastructure, IT hardware, data analysis, or operations
- Basic technical coursework or school projects are helpful but not mandatory
