About the role:Job Title: Application Analyst / EngineerJob SummaryThe Application Database Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications and database systems that support business operations. This role involves full-stack development, database design, performance tuning, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesApplication DevelopmentDevelop and maintain custom web, desktop, or mobile applications for manufacturing operations (e.g., MES, SPC, Equipment Tracking, Quality Management).Integrate applications with factory systems such as ERP, MES, SCADA, PLCs, and data historians.Design APIs and interfaces for seamless data exchange between IT and OT systems.Support the automation of manufacturing workflows, reporting, and analytics dashboards.Generative AI for code developmentDatabase DevelopmentDesign, build, and optimize relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.).Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and ETL scripts.Manage database performance tuning, backup/recovery, and data integrity.Collaborate with data engineers to structure data for analytics and reporting.Operations SupportWork closely with manufacturing engineers, process owners, and IT infrastructure teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions.Provide technical support for deployed applications and databases, including troubleshooting and enhancements.Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, audit, and change management standards.Continuous ImprovementContribute to digital transformation projects such as predictive maintenance, AI/ML model integration, Agentic AI and BigData.Identify automation opportunities and propose system improvements.Document system architecture, workflows, and procedures.Required Skills Qualifications: Must HaveBachelors degree in computer science, IT, or related field35 years of relevant experience in application supportStrong understanding of application architecture and databasesProficiency inLanguages: Java, Python, C#, Node.jsWeb Frameworks: .NET, Flask, JavaScriptDatabases: Oracle, PostgreSQL, ETL, Stored Procedures, SQL ServerIntegration: REST APIs, Kafka, MQTTExcellent problem-solving and communication skillsAbility to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)Experience with data modeling, performance tuning, and version control (Git).Familiarity with cloud and on-prem hybrid environments (GCP,Azure, AWS, etc.).Good to HaveExperience with Rest API, Web backend, SQL and No-SQL databasesExperience with big data platforms and real-time data processingFamiliarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelinesExperience working with cross-functional teams (e.g., manufacturing, engineering)Ability to create user guides and training materialsUnderstanding of factory security, safety, and quality standards Tech Mahindra is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
