Database Administrator (SQL Server & PostgreSQL)

Summary

We are seeking an experienced SQL Server & PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise database environments. The role is responsible for ensuring database availability, performance, security, backup and recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery across Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL platforms. The successful candidate will provide production support, troubleshoot database issues, implement automation, and collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable and secure database services.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases.
• Manage database backup, recovery, upgrades, patching, replication, and high availability solutions.
• Monitor and optimize database performance, capacity, and security.
• Troubleshoot production database issues and provide root cause analysis.
• Automate routine DBA tasks using PowerShell, Shell scripting, SQL scripting, or Ansible.
• Support L3/L4 production incidents, change management, and disaster recovery activities.
• Maintain database documentation and ensure compliance with security and operational standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Experience administering Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019/2022) and PostgreSQL (12/13/14/15/16).
• Strong knowledge of AlwaysOn Availability Groups, Clustering, Replication, Backup & Recovery, and Performance Tuning.
• Experience with PostgreSQL replication, high availability, and database optimization.
• Proficiency in Windows Server and Linux environments.
• Experience with database automation and scripting.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with experience supporting enterprise production environments.
