PostgreSQL/SybaseDBAL2is a technical expertrole within theDatabaseteam and will be responsible formanaging, administering, and supporting thePostgreSQL/SybaseDatabasetechnologies for the bank.

The person will be thetechnical point of contact for the Run team.He/Shewill bea technicalL2resource forPostgreSQL/Sybasedatabaseservices.

As such, he/shewill providesupport for all production supportactivitieswithintheDatabase teamin Singapore.He/Sheis accountablefortheoverall health andstabilityof the technical solutions within his scope.He/Shehas to effectivelyworkwith technical peerssuch as architects,peerexperts, and project teams on technology road mapsand projects.He/Shewillwork withL2/Service Manager to gaincontrol over the scope of technical activities, develop best practicesandgainknowledgeover all aspects of support.

PostgreSQL/Sybaseteam in Singapore is responsible for day-to-day operational services on the infrastructure of Europe (mainly France and UK)and Asiaremotely from Singapore.

Team works inEurope time zonesand this role will bealigned primarily toParis working hours. Flexible rotations arefollowedbased on the nature of duties.

Theoperational support of the teamcovers the following technical scope:

• PostgreSQLDBAAdministration
• Install,configure, and upgrade PostgreSQL database clusters.
• Architect scalable and secure database infrastructure, including HA/DR setups usingstreaming replication,logical replication,Patroni, orpgpool-II.
• Monitor database health and performance using tools likepg_stat_statements,Prometheus,Grafana, orpgBadger.
• Perform advancedperformance tuning,index optimization, andSQL query analysis.
• Design and automate database maintenance tasks such asvacuum,reindex,analyze, backups, and log management.
• Develop robustbackup and recovery strategiesusingpg_dump,pg_basebackup, or third-party tools.
• Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and QA teams on schema design, CI/CD pipelines, and application releases.
• Ensure security best practices including role-based access control and data encryption.
• Write and maintain scripts inShell/Pythonfor routine DBA automation.
• Sybase Administration
• Manage Sybase ASE and/or IQ installations, configurations, upgrades, and patching.
• Perform Sybaseperformance tuning,locking analysis,query optimization, andindex management.
• Monitor Sybase databases usingsp_who,sp_lock, and custom monitoring scripts.
• Handledatabase replication, backups, and disaster recovery strategies in Sybase environments.
• Perform space management, log management, and server resource optimization.
• Support Sybase job scheduling (DBA-defined or via autosys/cron) and alerting.
• Work on Sybase migration projects or co-exist setups with PostgreSQL environments.

Detailed JobResponsibilities

TheL2has a wide spectrum of responsibilities and actions.Person will be responsible for following (but not limited to) responsibilities in day-to-day work:

As theL2of the team, he/she:

• Act as thehighestlevel of escalation for the team members
• Own Incident, Problem and change management process for the team
• Assigns technical tasks and manages delegation
• Animates the team to encourage collaboration and sharing of practices

As theL2of his/her scope of activity, he/she:

• Is actively involved in incident management (fault investigation, resolution escalations of all monitoring alerts and user initiated problem calls/tickets) and request management
• Raiseany changes intoPostgreSQL/Sybasetechnologyand is accountable for any technical changes in the environment from a RUN/BAU perspective
• Participates in global Infra events (like Power down and DR Tests)
• Ensures activity is performed in compliance withnorms, standards, processes and procedures
• Ensures documentation is up to date and relevant for use
• Lead the continuous improvement initiatives
• Responsible toassistinfindingroot cause for any high severity issues
• Focus on automation and optimum use of the team to improve efficiency
• Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure to be fully qualified to undertake the role.
• Complete all mandatory training as required to attain and maintain competence
• Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal Compliance requirements, including, but not limited to, the Singapore Compliance manual and Compliance policies and procedures as issued from time to time

Work Schedule

• Work schedule is mainlyfocusedon supporting Asia and EMEA (Paris)time zone;however,may have to supportduring non-offce hours for critical incidents or escalation as per theassigned on-call support requirements;
• Shiftscheduleis followed;

Work Hours:

7AM to 4PM OR2PM to 11PM OR 4PM to 1AM.

Qualifications and Profile

Functional

• 6-8years ofPostgreSQL/SybaseDBAexperiencein the administration and management ofITDatabasetechnologies;
• Knowledgeofdifferent domains ofITSecurity;
• Working &hands-on experienceinadministeringtheDB technologies;
• Must have experienceinworking in a similarProduction setupin Run (Operations)mode;
• Ability to applyrisk based approachwhile working on assigned responsibilities;
• Experience indefining, implementing, and enforcingDatabase Securitypoliciesfor data security solutions;
• Must have working experience in aLarge enterprise-level environment, working experience ina financialorganizationis preferred;
• Excellent inanalytical, communication, and documentationskills;
• Ability to organize work and beable toprioritizeworkas per the needs of ProductionOperation'sneeds;
• Must have a strong understanding ofITILprocessesand be comfortable working in process process-oriented environment;
• Ability towork independentlyas well as part of a team, and is able towork underminimal supervision;
• Should havetime management skillsand able to manage work in fast moving environment;

Technical

• Hands-on experience in configuring and maintaining database servers and processes
• Experience with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options forPostgreSQL/Sybasetechnology
• Deployment,integration,and administration experienceof various components ofDB technologies.
• Must have experience indefining, designing, and configuringa Database solutionas per the business requirements;
• Deploy, upgrade, and troubleshootknowledge onPostgreSQL/Sybasetechnologysolution;
• Scripting knowledge (Python, T-SQL, shell scripting) is desirable;

Professional Certifications:

• PostgreSQL/Sybasecertification ishighly preferred
• Cloud certification
