As a Database Administrator and take ownership of building, optimizing, and securing robust database systems that power mission-critical applications. You'll work with a wide range of technologies from traditional relational databases to modern cloud and NoSQL platforms while driving performance, reliability, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Database Implementation & Operations
- Design, implement, and manage databases based on architectural and technical requirements
- Deploy and maintain data storage solutions across multiple platforms and environments
- Manage cloud-based databases, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
Performance& Optimisation
- Drive performance tuning through indexing strategies and system improvements
- Optimize queries and troubleshoot performance issues across relational and NoSQL databases
Data Life cycle & Reliability
- Define and enforce data life cycle policies, including retention, archival, and cleanup
- Develop and manage backup and recovery strategies to ensure high availability and data integrity
Security& Compliance
- Implement database security, access controls, and compliance standards
- Collaborate with teams to uphold data governance and audit requirements
Automation& Efficiency
- Automate routine database operations to improve efficiency and reduce manual work
- Use scripting and tools to streamline deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in database administration across diverse environments
- Strong experience with relational databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
- Exposure to NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB) is a plus
- Familiarity with object storage solutions (e.g., AWS S3, Nutanix Object Store) is an advantage
- Knowledge of graph databases (e.g., Neo4j) is an advantage
- Solid understanding of performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization
- Experience in data life cycle management and backup strategies
- Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across teams
