Database Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

• Proactively monitor and optimize database performance, availability, and query efficiency.
• Manage cloud database administration (AWS / Azure), including data access controls and role-based security.
• Implement and maintain backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, support incidents, and ensure compliance with security practices.
• Collaborate with application teams on database design, data modelling, and performance tuning.
• Define and enforce database governance standards (permissions, hardening, naming conventions).
• Provide documentation, reporting, and knowledge sharing; mentor junior engineers.
• Support 24x7 operations when required.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years experience as a DBA in operational support.
• At least 3 years in performance tuning and database performance management.
• Strong experience with SQL Server and exposure to DB replication.
• Hands-on experience in AWS/Azure database environments.
• Certification in SQL Server or other databases is a plus.
• Good-to-have: knowledge of DB2, MariaDB, MySQL.
