Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team and manage the performance, security, and reliability of our database systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in SQL Server and Oracle database environments, ensuring high availability, compliance, and optimal performance for enterprise-scale applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain SQL Server and Oracle 19c databases for multiple government agencies.
- Perform database performance tuning, health checks, monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure system stability.
- Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery (DR) strategies for single-instance and clustered environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for database migrations, upgrades, patching, and incident resolution.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to consolidate knowledge and improve team efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with security and audit requirements across all database environments.
- Automate database-related tasks using Ansible and Python scripting.
- Work with AWS cloud services for database administration in a cloud environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 1-2 years of experience in database administration, supporting enterprise-scale SQL Server databases.
- Proficiency in SQL Server, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), and Oracle 19c.
- Experience with database monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS) and automation tools such as Ansible.
- Strong understanding of ITIL best practices and database security principles.
- Certifications such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate, AWS Cloud Practitioner, and ITIL 4 Foundation are a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Working with Government Cloud (GCC) environments.
- Writing scripts using SQL.Plus, SQL Developer, and Python for automation.
- Managing clustered database environments and patching strategies.
