Job Description
We are currently seeking a Database Administrator (DBA)/Engineer. The role includes implementation, configuration, and providing database support.
Responsibilities
- Understand business and user needs and requirements.
- Identify and resolve common database/SQL performance problems, independently or with the team.
- Communicate regularly with technical, application, and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security.
- Maintain corporate databases, including backup, optimization, re-indexing, recovery procedures, and routine troubleshooting.
- Create and maintain documentation for database modifications and developments.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 2-6 years of business technology experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior database administration experience with basic knowledge of Oracle Database or MS SQL Server.
- Knowledge of other databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MS-SQL is an advantage.
- Experience with database monitoring and backup tools (e.g., Oracle Enterprise Manager, Recovery Manager, Zabbix, NetBackup) is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Oracle Appliance products and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of OS platform setup and tuning (Linux, Windows, UNIX) is required.
