Data Scientist/Quantitative Analyst

Hawksman Technology is working with a global investment bank to help understand their GenAI and AI efficiency across their developers.

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our clients AI and Engineering Productivity initiative. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of quantitative analysis, applied data science, and cutting-edge Generative AI tools. The role will focus on evaluating and modeling how AI tools (such as GitHub Copilot, agentic AI assistants, and autonomous code generation tools) impact developer productivity, and guiding future rollouts across the engineering organization.

This is a highly dynamic space as new GenAI products and iterations emerge, you will design frameworks and build models to measure impact, optimize adoption, and quantify ROI. You will work closely with data ingestion teams and data visualization specialists, ensuring insights are grounded in strong data pipelines and clearly communicated to stakeholders.

What You&aposll Be Doing

• Develop quantitative models to assess the effectiveness of GenAI tools in improving developer productivity.
• Design and refine metrics to measure developer efficiency, code quality, and workflow acceleration.
• Analyze adoption data from existing tools (e.g., Copilot, autonomous coding agents) and generate actionable insights.
• Partner with the data ingestion team to ensure data quality, completeness, and usability for modeling.
• Collaborate with the visualization team to translate complex findings into intuitive dashboards and reports.
• Stay ahead of the curve on emerging GenAI tools and adapt models to new use cases as they are rolled out.
• Provide senior-level thought leadership on how to measure and maximize the value of AI in software development.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 58 years experience in data science, quantitative analysis, or applied statistics.
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and Snowflake.
• Experience with developer productivity tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) and/or GenAI platforms.
• Solid understanding of experimental design (e.g., A/B testing, causal inference) and statistical modeling.
• Ability to work with large-scale, complex datasets in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfort collaborating with both technical teams (data engineers, ML engineers) and business stakeholders.
• Familiarity with data visualization workflows (you wont build dashboards, but must understand and guide them).
