Overview

The Privacy Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in embedding data privacy principles across all areas of Publicis business. The role demands knowledge of and experience in the AdTech or digital media industry in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, and in implementation aspects of regulatory compliance work. The Privacy Operations Manager will be part of the Privacy Operations Team (led out of the US) and will collaborate with regional and local senior-level stakeholders in business, engineering, and system administration, to ensure privacy by design and default is integrated into both existing and future proprietary systems, and business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Program manager who supports implementing and managing the Data Privacy Program for the APAC region alongside the Global Data Privacy Program Lead and in close coordination with the country CFOs and privacy stewards
  • Collaborate closely with Publicis Groupe´s Global Data Privacy Operations Team, Global Data Privacy Office (GDPO), APAC region privacy counsels, as well as the Global Security Office, to ensure business systems and processes comply with relevant privacy regulations and Groupe privacy policy.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in operationalising (i.e. putting into practice) privacy law and Publicis privacy policy requirements, and privacy principles in general.

Activities

  • Undertake reviews of our business processes to ensure regulatory and Groupe privacy policy requirements are fulfilled, and best practices are followed around the handling and use of personal information
  • Under the supervision of the Global Data Privacy Program Lead:
    • Deploy and ensure the completion of record keeping obligations
    • Compile status reports of data privacy deliverables to executive leadership
    • Provide leadership and strategic guidance to product/system owners in the design and evaluation of privacy and data protection related tools and projects (e.g., privacy-by-design).
    • Lead all phases of vendor due diligence assessment for all market specific vendors/partners
    • Partners with vendor contract owners to ensure data privacy-related contractual obligations are met by vendors
    • Facilitate factual due diligence activities for data privacy impact assessments
  • Prepares and assists with presenting clear, accurate and timely reports on data privacy risks, risk mitigation measures and compliance activities. Partner with central team on reporting aggregation.
  • Support monitoring compliance with applicable privacy regulations and Groupe privacy policies, and awareness-raising, training, and audits
  • Where required, support the business alongside GDPO in client meetings for questions related to data privacy and protection matters.
  • Collaborate with GDPO on being informed on the evolving privacy regulatory landscape and (a) inform the Global Data Privacy Program teams on the potential impact; and (b) understand the impact on the APAC region operations, processes and tools and ensure projects and tasks are initiated to reflect the changing landscape

Role-specific competencies

  • Must possess excellent knowledge of AdTech or digital media industry with strong initiative, collaboration skills, communication proficiency, problem-solving and analytical skills (including proficiency in Microsoft Excel), as well as excellent management and leadership skills.
  • Must be comfortable working in a distributed functional team with remote management support
  • Generally informed on the evolving global data privacy landscape to (a) understand the potential impacts on media´s business offerings; and (b) to design and implement the necessary corrective actions in relation to the team's/PMs current operations, processes and tools to remain compliant

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years experience in the AdTech or digital media industry
  • Program manager at heart, with ability to manage 8-10 parallel medium to large size projects in a matrixed, multi-discipline environment
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Mandarin Chinese (中文)
  • Regulatory compliance experience, specifically in implementation (i.e. implementing policies and regulatory requirements, conducting training, monitoring compliance activities, reporting on compliance)
  • Experience with OneTrust platform, and information technology.
  • IAPP certification(s) (e.g. CIPP/A, CIPP/CN, CIPP/E, CIPM)
