Data Ops, Engineer

Pre-Requisition

• Diploma/Degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science/Information Technology or related technical discipline

>2 years of relevant working experience for Engineer

>4 years of relevant working experience for Senior Software Engineer

• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Able to work independently anda team player

Job Description:

• Be part of a team to deploy, manage and provide support for databases and data lake platforms.
• Develop and implement strategies for high availability, backup and recovery and disaster planning.
• Identify and resolve database issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Implement database security policies, procedures and best practices in compliance to industry security standards.
• Develop or implement ways to enhance client's data warehouses, data lakes or equivalent platforms.
• Creation and upkeep of documentations e.g. design documents, troubleshooting guides etc

Technical Skills:-

Knowledge and/or experience in Database Administration

Knowledge and/or experience with Linux operating system and scripting

Knowledge and/or experience in at least one or more of the following:

• Hadoop Distributions: Cloudera, Hortonworks, etc
• Relational Databases: Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL
• NoSQL Databases: MongoDB, Neo4J, CosmosDB, etc

Knowledge and/or experience in one or more of the following will be advantageous:

• Data Virtualization tools: Denodo, etc
• Scripting languages: PL/SQL, Python, T-SQL, etc
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure
• Docker/Kubernetes environments
