We are partnering with a leading technology group to hire a Data Governance Specialist based in Singapore. The role sits within the Group Data Governance function and will drive the development and rollout of group-wide data governance frameworks and practices.
Responsibilities
- Draft, maintain, and implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures across the group.
- Collaborate with business unit leaders to assess current practices, identify gaps, and drive adoption of governance frameworks.
- Support the establishment of a group-wide governance framework, ensuring consistent data handling, access, and compliance.
- Document governance processes and maintain records for internal review and external audits.
- Facilitate communication and alignment across business units and external partners.
- Contribute to training and awareness programs to build governance understanding.
- Provide input for management reports on governance progress and compliance status.
Requirements
- Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in data governance, compliance, or information management.
- Strong knowledge of data governance principles, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Familiarity with international standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 27001, DAMA-DMBOK) preferred.
- Strong writing and documentation skills (policies, procedures, audit evidence).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working across diverse stakeholders and business units.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations (PDPA, GDPR) is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Certifications in data governance (e.g., CDMP).
- Exposure to fast-paced, dynamic environments.
