Job Description

Build the data foundations businesses run on

Every trusted dashboard, every clean dataset, every reliable report starts with someone who built and governed the data behind it. That could be you.

Data engineering and data governance is where technical depth meets real business trust. You'll design the pipelines that move data, structure the systems that store it, and set the standards that keep it accurate, compliant, and useable.

At FDM, up to 12 weeks of full-time training in our Skills Lab sets you up for a client project with one of Singapore's leading organisations. Our clients sit across multiple industries, so your first assignment could look very different to the next person's. You might be building ingestion pipelines, modelling a data warehouse, setting up a data catalogue, running data quality checks, or cleaning up how a team classifies and governs sensitive information.

Start dates: rolling intake. Apply now.

Your first 12 weeks

Training starts in FDM's Skills Lab. You'll work hands-on with SQL, Python, ETL, cloud data platforms, BI tools, agile delivery, and AI integrations.

You'll see how modern data teams actually run: how raw data gets ingested, cleaned, and modelled, how it's governed and quality-checked, and how it ends up powering the reports and models the business relies on. You'll build AI fluency along the way, because knowing how to work alongside AI is part of the job now.

By the time you start on your first client project, you'll have the skills employers ask for, and the confidence to put them to work.

After training

We match you to a client opportunity that fits your strengths, your interests, and where you want your career to head. You'll join their team, contribute to live work, and keep learning on the job.

Roles you could move into include:

  • Data Engineer. Build and maintain the pipelines that ingest, transform, and move data across systems. Model warehouses and lakes so the data teams rely on is structured, clean, and delivered on time.
  • Cloud Data Engineer. Work across cloud data platforms to build scalable storage, processing, and orchestration for analytics, reporting, and AI teams.
  • Data Governance Analyst. Set the standards that make data trustworthy. Work on data catalogues, metadata, lineage, and quality rules, and help client teams classify, own, and manage data in line with regulatory and internal policies.
  • Data Quality Analyst. Design and run the checks that keep data accurate. Identify issues at source, trace where they came from, and work with engineers to fix them at the pipeline level.
  • BI Developer. Design and optimise the dashboards and reports that turn engineered data into something teams can act on.

Where it leads: as you build experience on client projects, the path opens up into more senior technical roles across data engineering, cloud data platforms, data architecture, and data governance leadership.

At the bank I'm building data pipelines that process huge volumes of transactions in real time—helping the bank move to 24/7 payments through the New Payments Platform. —Max Lee, Engineer at one of Australia's big four banks
