Job Description

At Rhino Partners, we help government agencies and enterprises build modern digital platforms and data solutions that turn raw information into actionable insights.

We are currently hiring a Data Engineer (Associate Consultant) to support the development, operation, and delivery of enterprise data products. This role is ideal for candidates with at least two years of hands-on experience in data engineering, analytics support, or data integration, and who are looking to deepen their experience with modern cloud and big data platforms.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to ingest, transform, and deliver structured datasets.
  • Build ETL/ELT workflows to support analytics, reporting, and operational use cases.
  • Write efficient SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and validation.
  • Develop Python scripts for data processing, automation, and operational tasks.
  • Work with Databricks (or equivalent platforms such as AWS Glue, Azure Synapse, or Google BigQuery) to process and manage large-scale datasets.
  • Perform data quality checks and troubleshoot issues across data pipelines.
  • Support recurring data delivery processes to internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Maintain technical documentation for data flows, datasets, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, business users, and engineers to understand requirements and deliver reliable data solutions.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience in:
  • Data Engineering
  • Data Operations
  • Data Analytics Support
  • Data Integration
  • Hands-on experience working with structured datasets and end-to-end data delivery processes.
  • Strong proficiency in:
  • Python
  • SQL
  • Databricks (or equivalent big data / analytics platforms)
  • Good understanding of data transformation, ETL/ELT concepts, and data quality management.
  • Experience with cloud-based data environments is advantageous.

Preferred Technical Skills

  • Databricks, Apache Spark, or PySpark
  • AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Data warehouse technologies such as Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or Synapse
  • Git version control
  • Workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or Azure Data Factory

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and reliability.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proactive and service-oriented mindset.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to data governance, metadata management, or data cataloguing.
  • Experience supporting enterprise analytics or business intelligence initiatives.
  • Relevant certifications in Databricks, cloud platforms, or data engineering.
