My client is seeking a Data Engineer (FS/ Banking / Asset Management) role to serve as the primary architect of their investment data infrastructure. You will take full ownership of the investment data stack, moving beyond simple maintenance to act as the primary architect of the firm's infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with Portfolio Managers and Analysts to transform complex investment queries into robust data solutions, ensuring the research process is supported by high-quality, reliable data.

about the job

• Design and oversee the firm's data warehouse (AWS Redshift, Postgres, Supabase) and manage the underlying AWS cloud environment (EC2, IAM, S3).
• Build and automate ingestion processes for critical financial vendors like Capital IQ, FactSet, and Bloomberg, handling everything from corporate actions to market fundamentals.
• Translate investment hypotheses into technical requirements, creating the screens and datasets necessary for deep-dive company research.
• Develop internal dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, or Streamlit) and maintain proprietary applications used for valuation and portfolio monitoring.
• Implement rigorous data security practices, manage access controls, and automate reconciliation tasks to ensure 100% data accuracy.

skills and experience required
At least 4 years of working experience in Python and SQL skills with a proven track record of maintaining production-grade data pipelines.

Practical experience managing AWS infrastructure and cloud-native databases.

Prior experience in the investment or banking sector. Direct experience with Capital IQ and FactSet is a strict requirement for this role.
