Job Summary: We are looking for a motivated and service-oriented individual to join our IT team as a Data Engineer. This is a senior-level role focused on providing technical and administrative support to our company applications and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in IT systems, SQL database knowledge, data analytics and digital tools, enjoy problem-solving, and be eager to grow their skills within a dynamic and supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
Cloud, Data & Infrastructure
- Design, deploy, and manage Windows Servers and cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure.
- Develop and maintain SQL objects (queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers).
- Design and implement scalable data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, data marts, and data warehouses.
- Build and optimize cloud-based data assets, including large-scale data warehouse and data lakehouse migrations.
- Ensure data quality, security, and governance through validation, monitoring, access control, and encryption.
- Optimize database and query performance to improve reliability and reduce latency.
- Implement automation, CI/CD, and DevOps integration for data workflows and reporting
Data & Analytics
- Automate reporting and deliver meaningful, actionable data insights.
- Design and maintain data models supporting business and analytics needs.
Business Analysis & Project Delivery
- Gather and analyze business requirements, assess risks, and propose technical solutions.
- Manage end-to-end project delivery, including scope, timelines, budgets, and vendor coordination.
- Prepare and maintain project and functional documentation.
- Lead system testing, UAT, and user training.
- Act as the primary point of contact for system support, issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
Collaboration & Ad-hoc Support
- Work closely with business users, IT teams, and vendors to deliver scalable, best-practice solutions.
- Support ad-hoc projects and digital initiatives as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a SQL Server Data Engineer or Administrator.
- Microsoft SQL Server Certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified: SQL Server DBA or Azure Database Administrator Associate) is required.
- Hands-on experience with Azure SQL Database and Microsoft SQL Server (2016 and above)
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server high availability and disaster recovery solutions
- Solid expertise in database design, data modeling, and SQL development
- Proven skills in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies
- Experience with scripting and automation using T-SQL and PowerShell
- Familiarity with MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB is an advantage
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and communication skills
- Snowflake implementation experience is a plus
