Job Title: Data Engineer (Parental Cover)

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on impactful projects supporting analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows to support diverse business needs.
- Build and optimize large-scale data models, schemas, and data warehouse architectures for performance and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Software Engineers to understand data requirements and deliver innovative data solutions.
- Implement comprehensive data quality frameworks, including monitoring, validation, alerting, and anomaly detection to ensure data integrity.
- Evaluate and adopt best practices for data governance, privacy compliance, and data lifecycle management.
- Leverage AI tools and cloud-based AI services to enhance data processing and analytics capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data platform development, or related technical roles.
- Expertise in SQL and experience working with large-scale data warehouses such as Hive, Spark, or Presto.
- Strong programming skills in Python or Java for building data pipelines and automation.
- Proven experience designing and operating production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines with workflow orchestration tools.
- Deep understanding of data modeling concepts, including dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, and data vault methodologies.
- Experience with distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark, MapReduce) for large-scale data processing.
- Knowledge of data quality practices, data governance, and privacy compliance requirements.
- Ability to independently manage complex projects from inception to delivery.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience integrating AI and machine learning workflows within cloud environments.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their AI and data services.
