We are currently looking for Data Platform Engineer to provide operational support.
Role Summary
This role provides operational and technical support for enterprise Data Platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and vendors to design, implement, and maintain data platforms that support business intelligence and analytics needs, while ensuring compliance with security and governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with data product teams and business users to implement and support data platforms using established technologies and best practices.
- Collaborate with product vendors to design, deploy, and integrate data platforms within the organization's technology ecosystem.
- Ensure all deployed platforms adhere to IT security, risk, and compliance requirements.
- Define operational processes and implement monitoring mechanisms to track platform availability and performance.
- Act as a solution architect for end-to-end onboarding of projects onto data platforms, supporting BI use cases such as data ingestion, visualization, and data governance.
- Conduct testing activities on deployed data platforms to ensure reliability and performance.
Requirements
- Only Singapore Citizen candidates will be considered due to project security.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a platform support engineer, software engineer, or data engineer role.
- Strong proficiency in Python, with solid understanding of data structures and algorithms to build efficient and scalable solutions.
- Hands-on experience implementing applications to support new platform deployments.
- Familiarity with application integration using RDBMS.
- Practical experience working in Linux or Unix-like environments, including use of shell scripting and command-line tools.
- Knowledge of data integration and data visualization platforms such as Informatica, Tableau, and Power BI.
- Experience in automation, including identifying opportunities to automate operational tasks, streamline CI/CD pipelines, enhance monitoring and incident response, and reduce manual effort.
Advantageous Skills & Experience
- Exposure to configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible and Python.
- Experience working with data platforms and databases including Snowflake, Oracle, MS SQL, and Denodo.
- Familiarity with AWS services.
- Experience applying Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and/or Agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban.
- Good understanding of industry best practices for version control, testing, CI/CD workflows, and code documentation.
- Strong analytical mindset with an interest in solving complex problems through innovative approaches.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to work closely with data analysts, business users, and vendors.
- Detail-oriented and meticulous, particularly in operational and support contexts.
