Job Description

We are looking for a hands-on Team Lead to oversee day-to-day data centre physical operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the ground - managing DC cabling, rack & stack, hardware installation, and on-site execution - while coordinating teams, ensuring safety, and delivering excellent customer outcomes.

You will be the go-to lead for datacentre and field operations, and the Safety Champion for the company who ensures work is done correctly, responsibly, and safely at all times.

1. Lead Data Centre and Project Hands-On Work

  • Oversee rack & stack, structured cabling, labelling, power connections, and hardware installation
  • Support deployment of servers, storage, network equipment, and appliances
  • Ensure work follows data centre standards for power, cooling, space, and physical security

2. Manage Daily Operations & Service Delivery

  • Manage and Oversee multiple projects assigned to various Onsite Project Leads
  • Plan and coordinate installations, upgrades, and migrations
  • Make sure jobs are delivered on time, within scope, and meeting SLAs
  • Be the main contact for operational issues during delivery
  • Ensure smooth handover from project work to operations

3. Lead & Support the Field Team

  • Lead Onsite Project Leads, engineers, technicians, and on-site partners/contractors.
  • Assign manpower and plan schedules for site work
  • Coach team members on best practices and execution standards
  • Escalate issues when needed and support problem resolution

4. Sales & Operations Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales teams to support pre-sales planning, scoping, and feasibility
  • Provide operational input to ensure realistic delivery commitments
  • Support customer meetings where required to explain deployment approach
  • Ensure strong execution that drives customer satisfaction, repeat business, and referrals

5. Safety Champion

  • Act as the company's Safety Champion for datacentre and onsite operations company-wide (local/global)
  • Enforce safe work practices, tool usage, lifting methods, and site rules
  • Ensure compliance with customer, colocation, and internal safety standards
  • Conduct safety briefings, toolbox talks, and incident reviews
  • Promote a safety-first culture - no shortcuts, no exceptions

6. Incident & Maintenance Support

  • Own and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and installation standards
  • Ensure documentation is clear, updated, and followed by the team
  • Conduct onboarding and ongoing technical and safety training
  • Continuously improve processes based on lessons learnt from operations

7. Incident, Vendor & Logistics Support

  • Support response to infrastructure incidents and urgent issues
  • Coordinate planned maintenance and emergency worl
  • Work with vendors, logistics partners, and colocation providers
  • Track assets and ensure proper documentation and handover


Skills & Mindset

  • Experience in leading or supervising technical teams.
  • Comfortable working in datacentres and customer sites
  • Strong execution and coordination skills Safety-focused and detail-oriented
  • Able to lead by example and stay calm under pressure
  • Clear communicator with customers and internal teams
