An established global technology organization is looking for an experienced supply chain professional to manage critical hardware used across large-scale data center compute and storage infrastructure.
THIS IS A 1 YEAR CONTRACT SUBJECT TO EXTENSION OR CONVERSION TO FULL TIME BASED ON BUSINESS NEEDS AND PERFORMANCE.
This person will oversee supplier performance, material availability, inventory health and supply risks. They will work closely with manufacturers, component suppliers and internal teams to ensure hardware build plans remain on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Manage strategic suppliers across server, storage and networking hardware categories.
- Review supplier performance covering capacity, lead times, delivery, quality and cost.
- Analyze demand, supply and production data to ensure materials are available for planned builds.
- Identify potential shortages and implement recovery or contingency plans.
- Monitor inventory levels, ageing stock, obsolescence risks and product transitions.
- Coordinate material readiness for new hardware or infrastructure deployments.
- Resolve supply constraints with manufacturers, component suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Support alternative sourcing, supplier qualification and cost-improvement initiatives.
- Work with engineering, planning, procurement, finance and logistics teams.
- Maintain supply-chain dashboards and provide clear updates to senior leadership.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in supply chain, commodity management or material planning within a high-volume manufacturing or infrastructure environment.
- Hands-on experience managing commodities for rack-level server, storage or networking equipment at scale is essential.
- Direct experience managing strategic suppliers and resolving performance or supply issues.
- Strong ability to interpret complex demand and supply data and turn it into practical actions.
- Confident managing competing priorities across internal teams and external suppliers.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including preparing updates for senior leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
- Experience with a hyperscale data centre, cloud provider or major hardware manufacturer would be preferred.
- Knowledge of processors, memory, storage devices, circuit boards, power supplies, connectors and cooling components would be advantageous.
- Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems, Asian supply chains, Mandarin communication (suppliers are mainly in Greater China Region), relevant professional certifications or cost-reduction programmes would be beneficial.
