We are partnering with a leading data center operator to recruit proactive and dedicated Data Center Engineers. In this role, you will ensure the smooth, secure, and reliable operation of our data center facilities and systems. You will play a crucial role in incident response, system maintenance, and supporting both customers and internal teams to deliver exceptional service availability.
Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to incidents, perform initial troubleshooting, and escalate issues based on severity, impact, and SLA.
- Manage customer requests and maintain systems such as the Electronic Visitation Management System (EVMS).
- Provide Remote Hands support, including device reboots, visual inspections, cable testing, SFP insertion, and physical media handling.
- Handle equipment movement, tagging, labeling, and inventory tracking.
- Perform rotational shift duties to support 24x7 data center operations.
- Monitor all data center infrastructure and environmental systems (UPS, power, temperature, humidity, water detection, etc.) to ensure stable operations.
- Ensure optimal functioning of supporting infrastructure (EMS, Access Control, EVMS, etc.).
- Maintain and update documentation, reports, and records related to data center operations.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve technical issues and manage maintenance or shutdown activities.
- Ensure strict compliance with all SOPs, MOPs, ERPs, and change management processes.
- Manage incident lifecycle, including investigation, root cause analysis, and closure.
- Raise change or maintenance requests and keep customers informed throughout.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and customers to consistently meet SLAs.
- Participate in projects, support access clearance, and perform ad-hoc operational tasks as required.
Requirements:
- NITEC, Higher NITEC, or Diploma in Electrical & Electronics, Computer & Communications Engineering, Information & Digital Technologies, or equivalent.
- Solid understanding of data center infrastructure, including electrical/mechanical systems, fire protection, and building management.
- Strong communication, coordination, and customer service skills.
- Team player with the ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
- Well-organized, analytical, and proactive with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Positive, hands-on attitude with a commitment to operational excellence.
