We are partnering with a leading global algorithmic trading firm to hire a Datacentre Operations Engineer for their expanding Singapore team.
You will be directly involved in building, maintaining, and improving the firm's APAC datacentre and colocation footprint. This includes racking, cabling, optics, power, server hardware, component integration, hardware refreshes, failed component replacements, and post-change verification.
Key responsibilities
- Deploy and maintain physical infrastructure across APAC datacentres and colocation sites
- Rack, cable, label, test, and maintain well-ordered datacentre environments
- Support power, space, cooling, structured cabling, optics, and physical infrastructure standards
- Perform server integration work including NICs, PCIe cards, firmware updates, component replacements, and hardware diagnostics
- Support low-latency trading infrastructure, exchange connectivity, and market access environments
- Coordinate with vendors, datacentre providers, exchanges, brokers, procurement, and remote-hands teams
- Produce and maintain runbooks, install guides, test plans, change documentation, and post-change verification steps
- Support APAC colocation setup, expansion, hardware refresh, and equipment movement projects
- Participate in weekend change windows where required, with time off in lieu
What we are looking for
- 5+ years in datacentre operations, infrastructure operations, colocation operations, or trading infrastructure support
- Hands-on experience inside physical datacentre or colocation environments
- Experience with racking, cabling, fibre optics, transceivers, SFP / QSFP / DWDM, server hardware, NICs, PCIe cards, firmware, and diagnostics
- Exposure to low-latency trading infrastructure, exchange connectivity, market access, or financial markets colocation
- Working knowledge of switches, routers, BGP, OSPF, multicast, Cisco, Arista, or Mellanox
- Strong change management, documentation, testing, and post-change verification discipline
- Mandarin language capability for APAC vendor, stakeholder, or regional coordination
- Comfortable with occasional travel across Asia
- Open to relocating to Singapore
